3 Things To Check On Your Pool Before Summer

Getting ready for summer means you need to do a lot of things outside. One of those things includes getting your pool ready for a new swimming season. There are things that you are going to need to do to make sure that your pool is ready in plenty of time.

Inspect Your Fence

You may not think that examining the fence around your pool is a part of making sure that your pool is ready to go for summer, but it is an important part. That's because safety should be your first priority, no matter what. The easiest way to keep everyone safe around the swimming pool is to limit access. You don't want trespassers to get into your pool and go swimming without your permission and you don't want your kids or pets to get into the pool without supervision. A good, strong fence will take care of that. So, before it's time to swim, go check around your fence and make sure that nothing is loose or broken.

Look For Cracks

The first thing that you are going to look at when you start looking at the pool is if there are any cracks. Cracks in the pool mean that you are going to have leaks. If you can get into the pool while it is empty, you may want to get in there so that you can get a close look at the whole pool area so that you can see if there are any existing cracks or any places where cracks may be starting. If you see cracks, you are going to want to hire a pool contractor come in and repair them for you. While it's something you could do on your own, you don't want to end up with a repair that doesn't work as well as it should.

Check Hardware

You are also going to want to check out all your pool hardware, like your filters, heater, pump, and all of their attachments. That way you know that you aren't going to have any leaks in those systems and that they are going to work the way that they should.

Summer can be a very enjoyable season, and you want to make sure that you are ready for it, especially if you plan on escaping the heat by jumping into a nice swimming pool. Checking out your pool well before it's time to swim will let you get into that pool when it's time. Reach out to professionals for more info and for any needed repairs.
